The Big Table
Last week I shared a great breakfast at MetroFresh with a group of strangers.
Well, previous to the breakfast I knew one other person, James Andrews, aka @keyinfluencer and the essential connector. James, a well-traveled man, decided to bring one of his travel experiences home to Atlanta.
The event, coined The Big Table, is a 90-minute breakfast made up of 15 strangers from different industries, age groups and backgrounds. The rules are simple: No tardiness, no egos and no discussing your industry or profession (which believe it or not, we often use to define ourselves but ultimately it imposes limitations). Attendees connect, gain new insight and inspire one another by sharing ideas around interesting, curated topics.
In that short time, I learned a lot of new things about the city as well as some cool events happening this weekend. Overall, the experience reinforces the importance to get away from the computer and out of the studio to connect with the world around you. It’s a sure way to return better than you were before you left.
Thank you, James, for the invite.
